Matier Glacier Monitoring

Assisting Dr. Jeff Crompton of the Geological Survey of Canada for two days in the field at Joffre Lakes. Matier Glacier watches over the ever popular lakes below. Laden with heavy packs we setup camp at the upper lake and continued up the moraine to the glacier's terminus. We had a special use permit to operate a drone. We also serviced time lapse cameras, weather stations, and collected creek discharge data. It poured rain over night, but the rain cleaned just long enough for us to continue our fieldwork on day two.
