Spearhead Mountain

Distance: 7.6 miles 3060ft, 12km 932m

Utilizing the Blackcomb Gondola this alpine hike is amazing!
I have splitboarded in this zone in the winter, but seeing it in summer was, in my opinion, more interesting to see where the glaciers extend to. Though the long boulder field of Bodybag Bowl was a lot more fun on a snowboard.
To get here in summer; follow the trail to Blackcomb Lake. From Blackcomb Lake ascend a steep and loose boulder field to a saddle below Blackcomb Peak. A summit of Blackcomb Peak from here would be easy.
From the saddle, travel NE, following the ridgeline all the way to the summit.
The views along the ridge are amazing!
Views of Decker mountain, Cirque Lake, Wedgemount, etc, etc.
We ran down the mountain aiming to catch the last gondola ride down at 5:30pm. We arrived at the gondola with 10 minutes to spare.
The hike took 2.5 hours up and 2 hours down. The crux is managing the very loose boulder field.
