Berg Lake

Not to be confused with the Mt. Robson Berg Lake, this lake near Whistler is also beautiful and an easy short hike to get there.
The lake is accessed by following the C-1300 FSR. Very high clearance, 4x4 vehicles, could continue up this road making this hike even shorter. We saw a Tacoma driving up the road, but we opted to park at the lower trailhead 49..97624, -123.22158 and walk along the road. The rugged road walk offers amazing views of the geological wonders of the Garibaldi Lake area. From here you get a fantastic view of The Barrier, Clinker Peak, Garibaldi, and Black Tusk. A volcanologist's wet dream.
The Barrier is a naturally formed lava dam holding back Garibaldi Lake from flooding the highway and town of Squamish below. The lava flowed down from nearby Clinker Peak. From road C-1300 the views of this geological wonder are amazing.
The trailed section is short and you quickly arrive at the lake.
Berg Lake is very large and very peaceful.
One can scramble to Tricouni from here, though the easier route is from the Squamish Valley FSR.
